Types of Braces

Island Orthodontics Titanium Braces ALTitanium Braces

We are proud to offer Titanium Orthos metal braces by Ormco. A computer-generated system, Titanium Orthos utilizes titanium straightwire brackets to enhance conventional treatment. Because the brackets are made of titanium, they are durable, corrosion-free and flexible. This flexibility permits the archwire to gently deliver pressure throughout the duration of treatment; resulting in efficient treatment and greater patient comfort.

Titanium Orthos braces are lower profile, providing less irritation and feature pads that are contoured for each tooth, making for a more easy and accurate placement.

Island Orthodontics Ceramic Braces ALCeramic Braces

Ceramic braces move teeth just as efficiently as metal braces, except the brackets are clear, so they are less noticeable. They are most popular with adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawbacks to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.

Gold Braces

Gold braces are very similar to traditional metal braces, but they are coated in 24K gold. Underneath the gold, they are crafted from high-grade stainless steel. The gold coating provides a unique aesthetic and can also protect a patient who is allergic to the nickel found in traditional metal braces.
